Have you noticed the steadily increasing quality of the free horses on Craigslist? Here are just two recent ones:

Colored, young, one gaited, one POA... in normal times they'd at least bring a couple hundred bucks, despite not being broke. Link to the ad here.

I'm going to the Tim Nolan Auction in Marion, Wisconsin on Saturday November 10th, and I am just dreading it. If higher quality horses are going for peanuts or free on Craigslist, how many dirt-cheap ponies will there be at an auction where known slaughter buyers hang out? Folks, if you have any inclination or resources to buy, now is the time to do it.
