Happy Freakin' Monday

Happy Monday, folks. It's not a good sign when, on the first day of the week, my tolerance levels are in the Mel Gibson range.

Am I upset that a New York restaurant is going to serve horse meat? Eh, it's a temporary publicity stunt. Am I disappointed that I missed the Madison Mounted Police Obstacle Course Competition? Yeah, but I'll get over it... and if you scroll down here, you can see some awesome photos from last year. Nah, I just had a loooooong week full of people being assholes, no time off to speak of, and now somehow, it's the beginning of another week.

Well let's cheer up, shall we? The following video is funny, adorable and involves the biggest, fattest, sassiest horse I have ever seen. I especially love her attitude towards jumps: "Hah hah hah, NO." It's in German with some English, but the sound affects and horse clips are universally understood. Just wait until you hear her dolphin noises-- that's really her! I wish her owner told us what breed she was. I'm guessing Rhenish German Draft horse, what do you think?

  1. Usually I lurk but where's the video?!
I'm starting a week with a-holes so a sassy horse would be cheering.

  2. It's there! Try refreshing the page. You may have to press the red "play" button in the middle of the screen, as well as the grey one in the bottom left once it's loaded. Otherwise, here's the direct Youtube URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IXkNNBuWMe4

  3. I'd forgotten that Firefox isn't letting me watch videos right now. Usually I get a blank reminder screen but not this time...

And I love the little squeaky protest noises she makes. Thanks for finding a funny to improve the day!

  4. Dear Gods, she reminds me of my old belgian, and his 'tude towards jumps.. there was a cross country course set up near the stable i boarded at, and they had logs... if it was just a normal jump standard, he gave new meaning to the term "plow horse" he would plow right through them!! LOL
Thanks for finding this.. this totally cracked me up!!
