Crystal Marie Ackerman (Again)

I don't know how much worse this chick can get, but it's both amusing and horrifying to follow the train wreck of her life on Facebook. Crystal Marie Ackerman had previously made it onto my "Bad Breeders of Wisconsin" list, and I just have to share her new pictures. She recently posted a bunch of them on Craigslist, so I'm sure she won't mind if I spread them around! Crystal specializes in Gypsy Vanner and Friesian crosses... yeah, you saw that one coming, didn't you? This is her incredibly long-backed, herring-gutted Friesian stallion:

And guess what, Crystal is a trainer as well as a breeder! Just look at how much junk is over/under/on these horses-- that must mean she's doing an amazing job!

I think her thought process for the next picture went like this: "I know how to make this horse sell better! I'll put a show halter on him! I won't even need to groom him or stand him square or even take pictures on level ground, the show halter magically fixes everything!"

Barbed wire? Check. Uncapped T-post? Check. Spraying an unrestrained horse in the face while near this stuff? Double check. Gee, I wonder how the horse got that face wound?

Super classy my friend... people must be lining up at the door to do business with you!

So what's worse, riding a 13 month old horse, breeding mustangs when thousands are being held in BLM facilities, or this atrociously placed saddle pad? Crystal says, "Romeo my friesian mustang baby at 13 months isn't he a looker!" Yes, he is gorgeous. I hope you sell him to someone else very, very soon. I'm thinking maybe not though, because you're asking $8,000.

You know what most sales ads are missing? Pictures of mares with pieces of afterbirth hanging from their asses. Yep, when selling a foal, Crystal really knows how to include the intimate details that make potential buyers feel like the horse is already part of the family! Just look at the bloody goo! Too bad you can't see anything except the shriveled newborn butt of the foal that's for sale.

Crystal lives in Fennimore, WI, and enjoys breeding tons and tons of horses with poor conformation, breeding dogs, and feeding live bunny rabbits to snakes in her bathroom. You can finder on Facebook and Twitter.

  1. Horrifying :( I hope she gets hit with a clue stick pretty hard pretty soon. Though this may need something more heavy duty, like a clue bus.

One thing I can say about the snake is it's possible the snake refuses to eat them unless they're live. I had a snake a couple years ago (he's now traveling with a reptile rescue center that uses my sweet boy to teach people about snakes) that absolutely refused to eat mice unless they were alive. We tried thawed, we tried wiggling them he just didn't like them.

  2. I would love to comment on this, Crystal Ackerman has amazing horses with great conformation actually, good bone structure and attitudes. She NEVER rode a 13 month old horse, she waits until 3 to ride because of maturity rates in draft crosses. Just because there is a saddle on Romeo does not mean she is riding him. She picked the lightest saddle she owned, she doesn't even ride English. You took these photos off of her Facebook page in which she posts pictures of her babies being born. So what? I post pictures of horses being born if I have them! You are in for a lawsuit if you aren't careful. By the way, that mare that is being sprayed, had that cut when she was purchased. I have known Crystal for years and am always amazed at how well mannered and exposed her horses are. They are pretty much unflappable even as babies. There is no end to the good things people say about her horses and just because you had access to the internet does not make you an expert on her or her breeding. By the way stealing photos from her 21st birthday to try to get your point across? Really? How dumb are you? Are you twelve? And the show halter comment? You must be a moron, it was early spring and if you knew that then you must know that normally horses have winter coats.OH NO THE HORROR! You are in fact the most idiotic person I have had the displeasure of reading from. I hope you get a good lawyer you might need it.

    1. 1) The picture of the foal being born WAS on her sale ad.
      2) You have entirely failed to recognize the danger of barbed wire and uncapped T-posts.
      3) On her Craigslist ad, Crystal herself had invited potential buyers to check out her Facebook page... it's not my fault she didn't have enough sense not to post pictures of her drunk, slutty behavior for everyone to see. She now has her profile set to private... so perhaps she's learned something.
      4) My criticism of the dirty, shaggy horse in the show halter was not because I believe all horses should always be clean, but because she used this photo as a SALES photo, without bothering to groom the horse, stand it squarely, etc etc. Very unprofessional.
      5) Would you care to comment on the fact that she had previously advertised a month-old foal on Craigslist? Said foal was also pictured behind a barbed wire fence.
      6) As tens of thousands of horses are going to slaughter, and millions of pets are being euthanized in shelters, Crystal Marie Ackerman continues to breed mixed-bred horses, bulldogs, chinchillas, Great Danes and who knows what else. She's taking whatever breeds are currently "fashionable" and mixing them together, regardless of conformation, and trying to make a huge profit off these grade horses. She's a backyard breeder.
      7) How very scary that I may be sued! Hah. I've been threatened by lawsuits by numerous people who are mad at me for being mean to them on the internet... however, no one has yet actually sued me. Perhaps because I am quite simply TELLING THE TRUTH. It's all there... in Crystal's own pictures.

    2. I bought a great dane from her that was an excellent dog. I have nothing but praise for her dogs. Her personal life has nothing to do with her animal care or breeding skills.

  3. I sold horses that were a month old no problem. Then people can make payments, meet the foal watch it grow up etc. I have also had my horses for several years in pastures with barbed wire and surprise no injuries!! Maybe you should get a real job and stop leeching off of those of us who do work.
Note the lack of leaves on the trees, it was Spring and first of all too cold for a bath if you're not smart enough to realize that then maybe you should not comment, and secondly do you know how hard it is for any white horse to stay clean? You are childish and honestly if you are too scared to post your name then you are afraid that what you are lying about will come back on you. She is breeding, yes but she also has a home for every single horse she owns, if she doesn't sell them, they stay with her. She is not the problem, it's people that breed and don't do anything with the babies that are the problem. She works hard to make sure her horses are healthy and happy. From checking those fences to keep them contained and out of danger to keeping up with trimming, shots, coggins, worming, and teeth work which I think is more important than your childish uninformed rant. Everyone in this part of the state uses barbed wire and I can tell you nobody has problems like you think. If your horses are dumb and disrespectful of fences that's your problem not everyone else's.

  5. Hi North Horse I WILL sue you for slander and defamation of character when I find out who you are this is a load of crap. Yes its me the accused backyard breeding slutty animal abuser. This needs to be removed asap. I will not stand for my name being bashed as I have helped hundreds of animals. Yes i breed but you are wrong i only breed for the best and I spend alot of money to find and breed to the best stallions thousands actually not that it is your business. I have SAVED so many starving horses, or horses that if I did not take they were getting sent to kill. I have put months of training, specials feeds deworming whatever they needed and found them great homes and I offer to buy my horses back so yes is sucks that there are unwanted animals but that is not my fault If i cant sell or rehome I just keep and care for the animal.I have tons of repeat buyers and only had puppies when i had waiting lists. My animlas are my WHOLE LIFE anyone who knows me knows that and I really do take the best care of them. Yes I have uncapped t-post and barbed wire take a drive in rural WI lady that is how every place with horses is set up. So Im glad it makes you feel like a better person to bash others but get a life. If you want to make a difference for animals get off your computer go to a sale or a pound and save some lives I am proud of who I am and what I do and if that means drinking and having fun or driving 5 hours to save a horse its what I do.

    1. Lol...

It's great that people rescue horses. What an admirable thing to do... it's nice to see others helping. What I don't understand is how someone who actively rescues horses is failing to see the connection between breeding crappy horses and them needing rescuing...

Breeding Friesians, Gypsy Vanners, Paints, and grades all together? What a joke. None of those horses should be bred together, period. Unless they have a prolific show records or insane skills that we aren't aware of, because their confo is poor and you can't even get a good pic of them standing square anyways.....
If you really think these animals are quality enough to reproduce, then prove it. Oh, wait, you can't.

    2. Forgot to ad about her horrible training practice of having foals put their front legs on her shoulders and taking pictures.... Really?
And the fact she is breeding a friesian stallion, who has a VERY bad front knee from a injury, live cover in a pasture with a BUNCH of mares.... that boy doesnt deserve to be in that situation. If your going to breed him fine, but be nice enough to collect him on the ground and AI the mares instead of making him do that!

Horribly bred horses, over kill. Your the one flooding the market with horrible friesian crosses. All someone has to do is look at your FB and see that.

This post is dead on. Hope it doesnt get removed.

  6. Wow, what are you saying about the rest of us and to all the people out west that make their living from horses that don't cover their t-posts or use barbed wire? Really??? It isn't just Crystal your picking on.

    1. YES, that is exactly what I am saying. Every year, barbed wire fences are responsible for thousands of horrific injuries to horses, who become entangled in the wire, panic, and are sliced and diced like lunch meat. Out west, both wild and owned horses die every year, days of struggling, stuck in fencing that was meant as a cruel-but-effective deterrent for CATTLE.

  7. I have personally purchased a horse from Crystal. I have never met her in person and can only comment on my personal experience with that transaction. She was honest, helpful and the sale was as easy as any I have done via the internet. The horse arrived in good condition and was as advertised. I bought my filly in Dec of her three year old year. Crystal had done alot of ground work on her but had NOT ridden her yet. When she turned three in the spring I did start her under saddle and found her to have a good foundation and very easy to break. My filly went on to win CHAMPION in her division at her first show. So, not a piece of crap. Again this is only my experience, I can't speak for anyone else. But I would buy another horse off of her.

  8. Hey lady why do you reveal your name considering you can reveal crystals. Kinda funny and pathetic that you can ridicule someone who you don't even now them. Judging a book by It's cover I'm sure you probably have never had to do anything physical in your life involving your animal. I'm thinking you are mad and jealous of her because maybe just maybe she has better animals then you. Why don't you come down here and see the time she puts into these animals... Oh wait that's right no one knows who you are. Why don't you get off your lazy butt and do what she does for a day oh wait you probably don't even train your animals or have to touch a bail of hay Bahaha I hope karma bits in in the poo poo

  9. Honesty, truthfulness & integrity go along with actual names on BOTH ends. Be good since its evident by your opinionated, highly intellectual, self imposed points of view, that your clearly above & beyond us meek servants. Your experience & expertise at grasping photo's & depicting impersonations is second to none. Please our goddess of goodness, feed us from the tip of your main flight feather, in hopes, that maybe, we, can be but a wisp in your galaxy......

  10. Get a life!! There are far worse things in life to worry about. why don't you put your energy towards something that needs it. Concentrate on people that actually abuse animals.

  11. Maybe you should be approving all the cements that are coming throug... your a bog shot that can dish it out but can't take it? Let all the comments go through and let people make their own opinions on Crystal!

  12. Oh and tons and tons of horses.... really? She had four foals the first year, four the second
... let me break this down for you.. that is not tons. Or as you say 'tons AND tons' she also no longer breeds bulldogs nor has snakes any longer. She's not going around drowning puppies if they don't sell, nor is she not handling her foals so they become train wrecks after weaning. That's what floods the market, not smart trained foals, but wild untrainable crap. And people still buy grade horses if they have something to offer. Not that Crystals are grade, but you seem to have a vendetta against unregistered horses so I thought I'd clear that up.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wow, so many things to say.

First, I applaud the blogger. Someone needs to break to all of you that you have less than a clue of what you are doing. Breeding grade horses is.... drumroll please... UNBELIEVABLY STUPID. Stop being part of the problem, stop being an ingnorant backyard breeder who clearly cannot afford to use proper fencing much less proper tack, ect. Stop breeding horses that have no intrinsically increasing value in our market. Are these horses crossed to be propel a bloodline of proven show horses? Doubtful. How many world championship wins or gold medals does this stallion have? What kind of show record and professional training. PS... her training is not what we would exactly call professional.

Also, you can't sue people on the Internet for blogging about things you originally posted. so.. the empty threats are pretty ridiculous.

    1. Agree. If your going to breed.... Actually put the time and money into the horses to breed quality and PUREBRED horses, or atleast crosses that are worth something. Not just OHH a mare, Ill breed her to this stallion and have a baby!!

To many people put alot of hard earned money and time into the horses they breed and then there are people like Crystal...... ugh

  14. Guess who is back at it...Her Facebook changed to Crystal Marie. She's posting on group called Unwanted Farm Animals WI. oh and her gypsy and Friesian are from another back yard breeder. She used to give credit to in her craigslist ads, Alicia Wheeler, Gratiot WI. She's always posting craigslist too. Horses are in sad condition. Good chance this mini is from her. Look up facebook group, ad, look at the poor mini feet. Says from previous owner, well, if you take it in , then it's yours, trim her! ! Professional horse trainer's surely wouldn't post something that awful. Wow. It's like a bad accident, unreal.
