Okay, okay, clarification: we're only going to look at celebrities that are A) actually into horses or B) did something good for them. If we list every celebrity that ever mounted a horse and claimed to love it, we're going to have see tons more bimbos like Ms. Spears up there. (Lord, can you imagine any more inappropriate riding clothes? Love the flip-flops, Britney-- now put your heels down.)

Yep, Captain Kirk the space cowboy really likes horses in real life-- he and his wife Elizabeth breed and show Quarter Horses and Saddlebreds on their 150 acre farm, Belle Reve, in Kentucky. Spend some money on the website, will ya Kirk? It's kind of fugly. The farm helps out with the Central Kentucky Riding for Hope's "Help for Heroes" program. Shatner is also hosting a Hollywood charity event this year centered around horses, the profits going to a ton of great causes. Good for you Captain-- it's clear you're paying attention to the needs of the many!

Willie Nelson is one of the coolest people ever. He's an advocate for green biofuel, small farmers and animal welfare. He's adopted several neglected horses and constantly advocates against horse cruelty, including horse slaughter.
Viggo Mortensen
The soft-spoken actor, best known for his role as Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings movies, is a huge horse fan. He rides, advocates for, and published a photography book of, horses! He even bought a horse for a crew member on a LOTR set who might not have been able to have the horse otherwise. Check out this cool video about Viggo's deep connection with horses. ReplyDeleteI have been watching and photographing this herd of horses since I was 12 years old! (15 YEARS AGO) I am so attached to them! They feel like wild pets of my own! Nevada, since the very beginning has been known for our wild horses! They made a decision of all things…for wild mustangs to be on our state quarters! Also on things like many! Ads, and tons of phone books here in Nevada! God placed them here long before the BLM! came along!!!!!!!! and decided that it was their place, to do away with such a beautiful creature! While they were roaming THEIR OWN LAND! How do those people sleep at night??? I hope they don't lie to themselves in thinking they are good people, because that is furthest from the truth! In the beginning they started out, to “HELP” the wild horses, because VERY few herds, we're malnourished, hurt, sick, OR a other FEW horses had to many, that made it above the population mark! Will those people not be happy with them self's until they have completely taken away our wild mustangs??? Why don't they show that you have hearts and souls inside of them after all! Do something that they have never done before! Give Carson City back OUR wild horses! Forget about the profit they might make! for 1 second think of somebody other than them self's! Forget about the auction on March 23, 2013 at 9am! Instead make it a day of celebration! Let all of us gather and come together as one! To watch the release of these beautiful creatures, (or what is left of them)..4 out of 11 horses were already sold to people in Colorado. God has placed them on this earth! let us watch them as they know what it means, as the first herd of wild mustangs, to be released back on THEIR land! And from here on out, stop rounding up the horses! Apparently they have all for gotten why this was started in the first place! What's done is done! but from here on out let's work together to change the outcome for the horses of Deer Run Road, in Carson City, NV! and the rest of our wild mustangs that Rome Nevada! May God bless those beautiful horses! May God bless all of those who PROTEST and SPEAK on THEIR BEHALF, because they cannot speak for them self's! God also says to pray for your enemies, pray for the ones who do you wrong, and do wrong to the ones you love! So, BLM! tonight I will pray for you as well.
